Machining Refractory Metals, Ceramics, Plastics, and Graphite
Working with Difficult Materials
Everyday, GemTool works with its customers to address problems that they face in the difficult-to-machine space. Below is a list of some of the materials that can be found on Gem’s machines.
Refractory Metals – Molybdenum and Tantalum
Ceramics – Pyrolytic Boron Nitride and Hexagonal Boron Nitride (both used as electrical insulators), Ti-B2/Boron Nitride Composites, Si-C and Al-Si-C, and Oxide Ceramics
Graphite – All Standard Grades, Pyrolytic Graphite, Thermal Pyrolytic Graphite, Carbon-Carbon Composites
